One thing we all want in the morning is to wake up and not have to do a fat lot! This can made a lot easier if you prepare and do these 5 things before you go to be.
Set Your Time
This is a bit of a weird one because you don’t know when you are going to become tired but the one thing you need to think about is, what time are you going to bed? Set yourself a time to actually get into bed and remove all technology while also giving a half hour slot to actually fall to sleep. This way you are able to calculate how long you sleep and be sure to get your 7-8 hours of sleep that are required!
Drink Green Tea
I always used to drink a cup of tea before bed but found that I alway found it hard to actually get to sleep, this is when I found out that you should actually drink green tea. Though green tea is known to boost your metabolism and give you energy, it also helps to soothe you to help you calm down from the day and relax in bed.
Take Off Your Make-Up
This is an obvious one, take off that make-up and keep your skin clear. Even though most people will say this is obvious, there are still a lot of people who fall to sleep with make-up on as they cannot be bothered to take it off. But, taking off your make-up and cleansing your face with help your skin be clear and glowing in the morning and help to avoid any unwelcoming friends pop up on your face before your due to go to work (yes, I mean spots!)
Take Away The Technology
I mentioned this in a previous post, give yourself a half an hour slot before you go to sleep where you do not use or look at any form of technology. It has been proven that using technology before going to sleep has an impact on how well you sleep as it causes you to have a restless night.
Clear Your Room
Having clutter around your room is going to to have an impact on your sleep, don’t ask me how but it does. Having a clear space will also give you a clear mind. Your not going to have anything you to do with house work in the morning as your dishes are going to be clean, your desk is going to be clear and organised. This means you are able to go to sleep without having to worry about all that ‘house work’ you are going to need to do in the morning.
This does not mean that you need to sit on your bed in a funny sitting position and hum away whilst breathing in and out for an hour. A simple meditation for a few minutes of breathing in and out whilst clearing your mind and just spending those few minutes focusing on your breathing will help to clear that mind and help you to fall into a nice deep sleep. If you find it hard to focus on your breathing there are plenty of meditation apps you can download to help you.
Have An Early Night
Stop staying up to complete that last little bit of work, even though you think it will make your next work day easier as you have ticked off another job on your list, you are actually making it harder as you are getting less sleep and will have less energy to complete anything on that list. As said earlier, you need to ensure you are getting your correct amount of sleep (7-8 hours) as not getting it could cause weight gain, make you prone to illness and impact your stress levels.
