Things We Were All Guilty Of In Our Teen Years

There are a lot of things that we all did when we were teenagers that we would change but there are also things that we wish we could still do as we are all still young at heart.

Posting a ridiculous amount of song lyrics on social media!

Scrolling through facebook all you used to find were song lyrics, you would usually see the same status from over 6 different people posting song lyrics of the latest song. The song lyrics would represent what mood you were in, just got into a relationship? You would have some soppy love song lyrics in your status.

Drinking the cheapest nastiest drink

Frosty Jack or Apple Soars? Everybody used to turn up to the party with the cheapest drinks and everybody would drink it no matter how nasty those drinks are!

Wear anything

You used to go out in the skimpiest dressed or skirts, or dress like you were Rihanna and then see a picture of yourself and realise that you should of never purchased that outfit.

Primark was your best friend

You used to love the fact that you could go into primark with £20 and buy a full outfit, then realise that you have the same outfit at home in about 5 different colours because you buy the same thing everytime you go!

Wear foundation too dark for you

Wouldn’t matter whether you are wearing fake tan or not your foundation would be at least 4 shades too dark for your face and you would have a rim all the way found your jawline.

Hang out in the park all day

Looking back at it, I think I spent more hours in the park then at school. You never actually did anything when you were there, you would sit on the swings or skate ramp and just chat away or eat chips that somebody got from the chippy.

Stalk your crush on social media

If you fancied somebody then you would stalk them on social media to find out who they liked or if somebody else was stalking them.

Chav or Goth

One week you would be a chav the next you would be a goth. Some weeks you would even mix it up by wearing chavy clothes and your thick black liquid eyeliner.

Wishing you were from skins

Didn’t matter what they were doing on that episode you would wish you were part of their gang and walking round the streets hungover in last nights clothes (though we have all been there).

Epic MSN name

You could not go on MSN and have your name as your actually name, it had to have a load of emoji’s then you had to have your friends initials or your partners initials, but then you had to be careful in case you missed somebody out!

Hair would be pin straight

Who need volume when you were a teenager? You made your hair so it was pin straight and literally stuck to your face, with a side fringe that would be greasy by the end of the day because you played with it too much!

Ah the memories! I’m still guilty of drinking cheap wine tbh but it’s a step up from the Lambrini days.

It’s funny the difference between some of these things and what I did because I think in Australia in our teens we were all doing kind of similar but still fairly different things. The stalking your crush thing is universal though, my god did I do a lot of that. Looking back I feel like I was such a creeper! haha

Some of it I can honestly say I avoided, my love of the alternative/punk/goth look also tended to steer me towards the lighter foundations hahaha – but some of these were a serious trip down memory land. MSN names hahaha! I feel like the longer you were on there the more emojis and craziness found their way into your name. Like you started all sweet and innocent, and then you became an MSN regular lol. I also got a laugh at the one about drinking the cheapest drinks – GUILTY! I don’t think I truly appreciated a good drink until I was at least 25 lol!
